Lloyd Steward

Land Development Divisional Manager

Originally from the north island, after spending a year travelling around Africa settled into Christchurch life at Canterbury University where I studied Geology then completed a master’s in engineering management. My first job was with state owned coal company Solid Energy where I worked on various mining and water treatment and rehabilitation projects.

Following that I ran an industrial minerals operation where we sold minerals locally and internationally into the industrial, food and cosmetic sector. The opportunity arose to project manage the Pike River Recovery project, where 29 men tragically lost their lives. We successfully completed the project without an LTI which is something I am immensely proud of as it was said it was a job that was too dangerous to complete.

In my spare time I love getting outdoors mountain biking, hunting, fishing diving and chasing some fresh powder skiing in the winter. I enjoy a beer and love spending quality time with my family and friends.
