  • The original company of Townshend Excavating Limited began in 1980 and has steadily grown to its current size. The Texco Group has accumulated 30 years of experience and industry knowledge. Coupled with the average employee length of service equalling 6.7 years, any client is guaranteed familiar faces and a stable, experienced workforce.
  • The Texco Group focuses on people and machines and what they can do or make. Our income is dependant on providing a quality product in a cost effective manner.
  • Quality Standard ISO 9001:2008 is administered through the Texco Integrated Management System (Texco Excavating and Texco Drilling Ltds). Maintaining this quality standard is fundamental to the way Texco operates.
  • The Texco Group includes “Welds Engineering ltd” and Aeon Engineering Ltd”. Welds specialises in structural steel and Aeon produces CNC componentry. Both companies add to Texco capability on contracts by providing in-house solutions to on the job issues. These two companies add an underlying strength to the Texco contracting and drilling operation and provided one of the widest ranges of in-hour capability available.
  • Both Texco Drilling and Texco Excavating have achieved ACC Workplace Safety Management Practices (WSMP) Level 2 Accreditation. (We achieved Level 3 but cannot be awarded due to the stand down period required).
  • Texco Drilling Limited is a prequalified preferred General Civil Works Contractor for Ontrack.
  • Texco Excavating Ltd is a Prequalified (Civil) to Level A (Top) contractor for Christchurch City Council.
  • Texco Drilling Ltd is a member of the NZ Drillers Federation.
  • Texco Excavating and Drilling Ltds are members of the Site Safe organisation.
  • The Texco Group is serious about being practical with their environmental responsibilities. We have our first in-house designed and built electric vehicle operating in the fleet and are exploring the conversion of a light car (Suzuki Ignis) to further enhance our usage of alternative energy.
  • Texco was the first in New Zealand to operate a certified Soil Remediation facility for the treatment of hydrocarbon contaminated soil from fuel company sites. (Texco Remediation Ltd).
  • The Texco Group commitment to training ranges from Construction Blasting to Toastmasters and all points in between. Training is ongoing all the time under the administration of the Training Coordinator.
